Whistler Writer’s Fest

September 19th, 2024

From debut authors to Giller Prize nominees, the Whistler Writers Festival consistently brings together top local and Canadian talent each fall, showcasing their latest works.

The festival also continues to offer fan-favorite events like the Literary Cabaret and the Saturday night headline show, which regularly attract large crowds for a blend of live music and thought-provoking discussions.

“We like to try something new each year, but there are some essential events audiences demand, like the Literary Cabaret, our Saturday evening feature event, and our thriller panel,” said Rebecca Wood Barrett, festival artistic director. “These are just a few events that we all love so much, and it wouldn’t be the festival without them. I’m also thrilled for the Giller nominated authors, and that they’ll be sharing their nominated work with us. Hearing Caroline Adderson read from A Way to be Happy and Conor Kerr share from Prairie Edge is going to be very special.”

Over the course of the four-day festival, attendees can look forward to 12 reading events and eight workshops.
