Monica Nawrocki pens first YA novel

April 20th, 2016

Monica Nawrocki lives on Cortes Island, where she wrote her first young adult novel, Full Moon Lagoon (Friesen Press 2015).  Her home is also the setting of her adventure story, which is about three 12 year-olds time who travel back in time to 1941 to experience first hand the Japanese Canadian internment as it played out on Cortes Island. It is a story that blends magic with history. Nawrocki describes herself as an educator who believes that historical fiction for kids should be fun but that it should also open doors of communication. Paperback $12.99 978-1-4602-7714-0
