When it comes to fish stories, few trump David Levy. The North Vancouverite fisheries biologist, environmental consultant and lifelong angler has authored more than 100 scientific reports. To these he now adds Swimming Upstream: A Fish Biologist’s Journey (BookBaby $35.07). Swimming is an independently published memoir, engaging the reader with fisheries science, conservation battles, fishing tales and international fieldwork. Notably, Levy the McGill and UBC-educated scientist was, among other things, director of the 2009-2012 Cohen Commission Inquiry into the Decline of Sockeye Salmon in the Fraser River. 9798317812454
