Concussion poems

April 22nd, 2020

After a disabling concussion, Kyla Jamieson published her debut collection of poems, Body Count (Nightwood $18.95) about her life before and after the accident. Jamieson’s trauma and healing are explored alongside her perceptions relating to disconnectedness and social media; romance and pleasure. Her publisher describes the book as, “One part rape culture protest anthem, one part long-distance love story, one part invisible illness testimony, and 100% epistolary intimacy.” 978-0-88971-370-3
