Born on December 27, 1927, Ray Woollam taught school in Kispiox, B.C. and served as a United Church Minister in Smithers, Cranbrook and Duncan.

An ardent supporter of Tommy Douglas, he worked in community development in northern Saskatchewan and wrote books of ‘UN-psychology’ via his own imprint, Unica Publishing. These included Reaching (Links, 1975), On Choosing with a Quiet Mind (Unica, 1985), Have A Plain Day (Unica, 1989), Ordinary Magic (Unica, 1987), and Looms: A Subjective Weaving (Unica, 1995).

As a self-styled guru and ‘UNpsychologist’, Woollam encouraged his own style of ‘subjectivity training’ from Vancouver Island to Alberta, Ungava Bay and Mexico. His Glasswaters Foundation served local and global communities in Lesotho, Nepal and Cambodia.

He died on May 8, 2021.
