Why we are where we are
June 15th, 2022
In her first poetry collection in fourteen years, Accidents (Signature Editions $17.95) Italian-born Genni Gunn writes of life-altering upheavals that change people. The first section, Absences is about accidents of birth that define “why we are where we are.” Gunn says her journeys back to Italy to explore her childhood have recalibrated her perspective through the lens of absence and time. The second section, Artifacts, is an exploration of the childhood objects that we cling to. The final section, Accidents, considers the coincidences and mischances that lead to family strife, love and desire, and unrest and unease. Gunn has also published three novels, three short story collections and two other poetry volumes. 9781773240985
