Voices of Resilience Launch
May 19th, 2026

The launch of Voices of Resilience: An Anthology of Stories Written by Children of Holocaust Survivors (Amsterdam Publishers $24.95), edited by Deborah Ross-Grayman, will take place on Monday, May 25, 2026, at 7 pm at Floral Hall in VanDusen Botanical Garden. 9789493418615
Published by Amsterdam Publishers, the anthology brings together personal stories and poems from twelve second-generation descendants of Holocaust survivors, many connected to the Vancouver Holocaust Education Centre community.
Set across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North America, the collection examines themes of survival, displacement, identity and inherited trauma through closely linked personal narratives. Contributors recount childhoods shaped by war, migration, political upheaval and rediscovered family histories, while also reflecting on resilience, compassion and renewal across generations.
The anthology includes a foreword by Robert Krell and a historical overview by Chris Friedrichs, offering historical and psychological context to the collection’s exploration of intergenerational memory and post-traumatic growth.
Books will be available for purchase at the event or online and light refreshments will be served.
