Co-authored by Simon Roy, Jess Pollard and Sergey Nazarov, Griz Grobus (Image Comics $26.99) is a sci-fi graphic novel set in the same universe as Roy’s Habitat (Image Comics, 2016). However, Griz Grobus explores life on the rural colony world of Altamira after the fall of an interstellar empire. Unlike the grim descent into tyranny seen in Habitat, this book presents a more wholesome post-utopian frontier. The story weaves two parallel narratives: in a mountain village, a young scribe’s enthusiasm reactivates a long-defunct priest-bot who struggles to find purpose in a changed world. Meanwhile, a war-god is trapped in the body of a goose, while a pacifist cook attempts to prevent his violent return. Roy lives in Victoria. 9781534397866
