Louise Takeda is a Research Affiliate with the POLIS Project on Ecological Governance. Her Master’s degree in Environment and Development focused on land use planning in Haida Gwaii. In her book, Islands Spirit Rising — Reclaiming the Forests of Haida Gwaii (UBC Press $95.00) Takeda examines how the local indigenous environmental community faced multi-national forest industry and political bodies to gain control of forest resources.
