Gardening and self-care
January 22nd, 2025

Family therapist and author, Diana Stevan, is set to release Along Came A Gardener (Island House, unpriced) on March 15, 2025, at Mulberry Bush Bookstore in Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island.
Diana Stevan’s new title combines memoir, self-help and insights from the world of psychotherapy. Drawing from her 25 years as a family therapist and her reflections on gardening, Stevan explores how tools from therapy and nature can help navigate life’s challenges. Offering guidance on when to seek therapy and what kind of therapist to consult, the book also delves into relationships and personal growth. First conceived in the late 1970s, while Stevans was working in psychiatry and child guidance, this book connects mental health and the lessons offered by nature.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Stevan has a multifaceted career as a therapist, actor, model, teacher and writer. She has authored five novels, including Sunflowers Under Fire (Island House, 2019), a family saga inspired by her Ukrainian grandmother’s life during WWI and the Russian Revolution, which was a finalist for the 2019 Whistler Independent Book Awards and a semi-finalist for the Kindle Book Awards in Literary Fiction.
