The short stories in Genni Gunn’s new collection Permanent Tourists (Signature $19.95) are linked although they take place in an array of geographical locations across Canada, USA, Thailand, Cambodia, Mexico and Italy. Page’s ‘terrible tourists with their empty eyes / longing to be filled with monuments.’ What they’re looking for cannot be not found in any postcard destination.”
