Battling Great Old Ones

March 25th, 2021

Monsters! Mini-subs! H.P. Lovecraft reading poetry at Pender Harbour’s Egmont pub on open mic night! These all feature in David Neil Lee’s follow up to his YA novel The Midnight Games (Wolsak & Wynn, 2015).  The sequel, The Medusa Deep (Wolsak & Wynn $15) finds the mysterious airship “Sorcerer” spiriting Nate Silva — the protagonist in Midnight Games who fought some of Lovecraft’s mythical “Great Old Ones” — from Hamilton, Ontario, westward to the marine abyss (somewhere around Hotham Sound in Jervis Inlet), which in 1946 was the site of a battle between the whaling ship Mary Maquinna, and a “Great Old One” that came to earth on a Nazi spaceship. 978-1-989496-31-2
