Oga Nwobosi and Christina Myers met in a postpartum support group where they were exposed to emotions ranging from joy to grief. Many new mothers experience depression, anxiety and other impacts but often don’t seek help. Becoming friends, Nwobosi and Myers have co-edited Beyond Blue: Stories of Heartbreak, Healing, and Hope in Postpartum Depression (Caitlin $26), a collection of stories from 26 mothers telling of an inability to make decisions, paranoia, fear of being a bad parent and even thoughts of self-harm. In addition to illuminating the often-invisible experiences of postpartum mental health, the book offers a life raft of hope and healing to struggling new parents. 9781773861739
