Mute Swan

November 15th, 2021

Lesley-Anne Evans has published Mute Swan: Poems for Maria Queen of the World (The St. Thomas Poetry Series $20) that explores the landscape of the voiceless—voices misnamed, silenced, discounted, subverted. Blurring boundaries, the poet offers a story of spiritual awakening and “unmuting.” Injustice, impermanence, longing, beauty, and love become ways toward spiritual freedom. Evans is an Irish-Canadian poet who writes from Feeny Wood, a contemplative woodland retreat in Kelowna, B.C. Her periodical publications include The Antigonish Review, Barren Magazine, Cascadia Review, Contemporary Verse 2, Literary Mama, Faith Today, One Throne, and Presence Journal. 9781928095071
