The 36th Annual JCC Jewish Book Festival scheduled for February includes several B.C. authors: Yosef Wosk, Seth Klein, Bonnie Sherr Klein, Rae Mate, Myriam Steinberg and Naomi Steinberg.

Literary talent runs in families and this is on display at the festival this year with debuts from two sisters: Myriam Steinberg will launch her tragicomic graphic novel Catalogue Baby: A Memoir of (In)fertility (Page Two Books, 2021); and storyteller Naomi Pommier Steinberg will present her travelogue and memoir Goosefeather: Upon a Cartographic Adventure (Self-published, 2020).

The well-known Klein family will be represented by author and activist, Seth Klein with his timely A Good War: Mobilizing Canada for the Climate Emergency (ECW, 2020). Award-winning filmmaker and author Bonnie Sherr Klein will read from her new children’s book that tackles our perception of disability, Beep Beep Bubbie (Tradewind, 2020).

Local Renaissance man and 2020 Order of Canada recipient, Yosef Wosk will launch his new book Memories of Jewish Poland: The 1932 Photographs of Nachum Tim Gidal (Gefen Publishing, 2020) in a pre-fest event on February 11, in the Zack Gallery at the JCC.
