CBC Radio’s “Word Guy,” Dr. Jonathan Berkowitz and artist Linda Dayan Frimer will be showcasing their new books at Vancouver’s Jewish Community Centre later this month as part of the Jewish Book Festival.

Berkowitz will be discussing his latest title, Tales From the Word Guy: What Your English Teacher Never Taught You (FriesenPress $24.99), in which he continues his exploration of the history, idiosyncrasies and sheer pleasures of the English language. He covers how English evolved and expanded over the centuries and reminds us of long-forgotten aspects of how to use the language properly.

A UBC professor of statistics and lover of words, Jonathan Berkowitz’s previous book is The Whirl of Words: Puzzling Past and Present (FriesenPress, 2021).
