Prehistoric friends

Filmmaker and author Rebecca Wood Barrett wrote the kidlit book for ages 8 – 10, My Best Friend is Extinct (Orca $10.95), due out in March 2021, about a young boy who befriends a strange prehistoric-like creature during a major snowstorm. Illustrations are by Cornelia Li. Barrett has published short fiction in literary journals such as Room and Antigonish Review and has an MFA in creative writing from UBC.
