Poetry in the park
June 11th, 2025

The Poetry in the Park series, founded by The Gathering Place in 2024, continues this summer at Emery Barnes Park in downtown Vancouver, offering weekly afternoon readings every Wednesday from 2 to 4 PM. The event, free and open to the public, runs through the end of July and features a range of poets from across British Columbia.
Upcoming readings include appearances by Amber Dawn (June 18), Angela Gray (June 25), Isabella Mori (July 2), Jude Neale (July 9), Lindi Nolte (July 16), and Rodney DeCroo (July 23). The series will conclude on July 30 with Evelyn Lau, a former Vancouver Poet Laureate.
Now, Vancouver Parks and Recreation is co-hosting the program, which invites community members to engage with local poetry in an outdoor setting.
Bring a friend, and experience poetry in one of the city’s vibrant green spaces.
