June 19th, 2025

Peter Holloway (at right) has been shortlisted for the Crime Writers of Canada Best First Crime Novel 2025 for The Roaring Game Murders (Bonspiel Books $24.95). The recognition marks a significant milestone for Holloway, who has successfully transitioned from finance to the world of crime fiction. With the nomination, Holloway’s post-retirement project has taken on national attention.
The novel officially launched on November 1st, 2024, at the Tunnel Town Curling Club in Tsawwassen, where the community turned out in force to celebrate. Since then, the book has been picked up by local retailers like Albany Books and Black Bond Books, as well as available online via Amazon and Kobo. The Roaring Game Murders is set in the fictional community of Boundary, nestled between Vancouver and the U.S. border. This suspenseful novel follows Detectives Tate Boman and Claire Kozak as they unravel two chilling murders: one at a local curling club and the other involving the shooting of an off-duty police officer. Fans of Boman and Kozak can look forward to more investigations: Holloway is already hard at work on the second novel in the Boundary Detective Series. 9781069004901
