Endings: Encounters with Extinction (House of Anansi Press $29.99) examines what extinction means in an era of accelerating biodiversity loss. Blending natural history, science and memoir, Neil Griffin travels from Belize and Honduras to Kenya and the Canadian Prairies, exploring endangered species, ancient mass extinctions and humanity’s relationship with the natural world. Along the way, he argues that even amid environmental loss, wonder and hope endure. Neil Griffin is a writer, naturalist and wildlife biologist based in Victoria. He is also the author of two forthcoming children’s books on natural science. 9781487014261
