Myers wins CBCA Memoir

February 24th, 2026

Canadian Book Club Awards has named Christina Myers the winner in the Non-Fiction/Memoir category for Halfway Home: Thoughts from Midlife (House of Anansi $23.99).

Now in its eighth year, the awards are uniquely decided by readers rather than juries, and are open to trade, independent and self-published books. This year’s submissions reflected a 50/50 split between independently and traditionally published titles, with 82% of entries written by Canadian authors.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Myers is a writer, editor and former journalist. She previously edited Big: Stories about Life in Plus-Sized Bodies (Caitlin, 2020), an anthology featuring 26 plus-sized, non-binary and trans contributors reflecting on body image, fashion, sexuality and fat activism in a culture shaped by diet narratives. The collection received a 2021 IPPY silver medal.

She is also the author of The List of Last Chances (Caitlin Press, 2021), which won the 2023 Canadian Book Club Award for Fiction. An alumna of Simon Fraser University’s Writer’s Studio, Myers now teaches creative writing through SFU Continuing Studies.

Her latest recognition from the Canadian Book Club Awards highlights sustained reader support for her work across genres. 9781487012441
