FBCW Fireside Chat

November 21st, 2025

The Federation of British Columbia Writers (FBCW) is hosting a Fireside Chat featuring novelist Frances Peck and author Wiley Wei-Chiun Ho on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at 7:00.

The one-hour chat will offer literary insight and creative discussion, followed by a live audience Q&A session.

Frances Peck: A highly regarded editor, ghostwriter, and writing instructor before pivoting to creative writing. Her debut novel, The Broken Places (NeWest, 2022), was named a Globe and Mail best book of 2022 and was a finalist for the Rakuten Kobo Emerging Writer Prize. Her second novel, Uncontrolled Flight (NeWest, 2023), made several 2023 book-of-the-year lists. Peck currently serves as the FBCW Ambassador and is engaged in deep edits on her new novel.

Wiley Wei-Chiun Ho

Wiley Wei-Chiun Ho: An author who identifies as Generation 1.5, her work explores the complex liminal spaces between cultures, languages, places, and identities, reflecting her roots in both Taiwan and Canada. Her award-winning short stories and personal essays have appeared in various literary journals and anthologies. She is currently working on a memoir about growing up in a Taiwanese-Canadian “astronaut” family.
