In Allie McFarland’s debut novella, Disappearing in Reverse (Univ. of Calgary $24,99), a young woman named Devin, who supposedly died five years ago, has a recent picture posted online. Another young woman, convinced that she caused Devin’s death, embarks on a road trip to find out if Devin may actually be alive.
