In collaboration with the Audain Art Museum, co-curators Dana Claxton, Curtis Collins (also gallery director), Skeena Reece and Marika Echachis Swan explore an 80-year history of wood and argillite carving by Indigenous women the Pacific Northwest in Curve!: Women Carvers on the Northwest Coast (Figure 1 $45.00). Though often less recognized than their male counterparts, Indigneous women have played a vital role in preserving traditional carving, dances, songs, and ceremonies within their Northwest Coast communities. The book features over 100 artworks, including newly commissioned pieces, along with commentaries and interviews that highlight the significance of artists such as Ellen Neel, Freda Diesing, Susan Point and more. 9781773272542
