In the quiet seaside town of Oyster Hill, a hit-and-run accident that kills a child shocks the community. Christine Cosack’s novel, Barcelona Red Metallic (Second Story Press $22.95), due out in October, follows Police officer Luci Miller who leads the investigation, with her only clue being a unique shade of red car paint. Her search eventually points to Jo Nelson, a grandmother in her seventies who has spent her life caring for her son, Oliver, who has cystic fibrosis. As Luci gets closer to Jo, she finds it difficult to remain impartial, especially as Jo’s charm hides dark secrets. Jo is forced to confront the possibility that someone she loves might be responsible for the tragic accident. 9781772603910
