Cedar + Salt wins design award

Cedar + Salt: Vancouver Island Recipes from Forest, Farm, Field, and Sea (Touchwood $45) by DL Acken [sic] and Emily Lycopolus is a First Prize winner in the Reference category for Alcuin Society’s annual competition for Book Design. The official recipient is TouchWood designer Tree Abraham (at right).

The announcement was made on October 7.

According to the Alcuin Society, this is the only national competition for book design in the country. For this year’s competition there were 53 winning titles over eight categories. Cedar and Salt will now be exhibited in Edmonton, Alberta; Leipzig, Germany; and Tokyo, Japan.

Cedar and Salt is also the winner of a 2020 Gourmand World Cookbook Award and was a finalist for the 2020 BC and Yukon Book Prizes.
