Stella Harvey – 2026 Whistler Writer in Residence
February 17th, 2026

Author and founder of the Whistler Writing Society, Stella Harvey will be joining the society this fall as its 2026 Writer in Residence.
As a creative writing mentor, Stella Harvey has had a profound impact on countless writers as they embark on their creative writing journeys.
Publicity for the Society says: “Writing is an act of exposure. You’re laying your heart and mind out there for others to see. This is why it’s so important to have a mentor who is both empathetic and critical. To keep going, a writer needs encouragement, but to get better at the writing craft, they also need a critical eye—someone who is not afraid to ask the hard questions about the work and point out areas for improvement. Stella is a mentor who delivers on both of these aspects.”
The Whistler Writer in Residence program takes place at the Artists’ Cabin at The Point Artist-run Centre on Alta Lake.
If you are interested in applying for the Writer in Residence (WIR) program at Whistler, participants are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Read more about the WIR program here. Please reach out to rebecca@whistlerwritersfest.com to let her know of your intention to participate.
