FBCW Poetry Writers’ Circle
November 19th, 2025

The Federation of British Columbia Writers (FBCW) is shining a light on local talent with a Writing Circle Spotlight featuring the Poetry Writers’ Circle on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at 7:00 PM PST. This virtual event, hosted via Zoom by Meaghan Hackinen, will feature readings from six poets based across the province.
The spotlight offers a glimpse into the work generated within the FBCW’s online Writing Circles, showcasing diverse voices and backgrounds in contemporary BC poetry.
The event will feature readings from the following members of the Poetry Writers’ Circle:
Kelsey Andrews: The group facilitator whose first collection, Big Sky Falling, was published in 2021.
Kath Healing (they/them): A queer trans disabled and neurodivergent poet residing in Victoria whose work braids eco-grief with queer survival. They recently won the 2025 Victoria Writers’ Society Poetry Contest.
Medwyn McConachy: A poet and fibre artist inspired by the living world, whose work is generated through contemplative solitary walking practice on Salt Spring Island.
KB Nelson: A Rhysling-nominated writer who currently lives, writes, and hikes the beaches and forests on the unceded territory of the Sechelt First Nation.
Bonnie Waterstone: A poet who lives and gardens in Gibsons on the Sunshine Coast, with poems that often sing of trees or laugh at the discoveries of aging.
Emma B: A beginner potter and acupuncturist residing in Victoria.
Registration is required at bcwriters.ca/events-for-writers, where a Zoom link will be provided.
