February 25th, 2026

Literary celebration supports Okanagan literacy initiatives.

Organized by Darcy Nybo, Beyond Words: Authors, Books & Community Support will take place March 28 from 2:00–5:00 PM at Grizzli Winery, bringing together 37 BC authors for an afternoon dedicated to books and community connection.

The free event supports Project Literacy Central Okanagan Society, with all silent auction proceeds directed to local literacy programming.

Attendees can explore more than 100 titles across genres including children’s literature, memoir, crime, mystery and inspirational non-fiction.

The program features raffles, giveaways, instrumental music and full access to the winery’s 20,000-square-foot space and art gallery. A silent auction will include items such as a winery tour with wine and charcuterie and an Okanagan Lake tour.

Several authors will be celebrating notable releases. Dee McWatters presents her candidly titled work, Sorry I Was Such a D!ck. Tamara McLellan shares her memoir The Shark and the Sunshine, while Kelly Pawlik continues the Olympic Vista Chronicles series with its forthcoming fifth instalment.

Family- and pet-friendly, Beyond Words offers readers an opportunity to meet authors, purchase books and support literacy efforts in the Central Okanagan.
