November 03rd, 2026

In her debut novel, The Art of Getting Lost and Found (Breakwater Books $24.95), Kelowna-based Glenna Turnbull tells of the lives of two women over one week in August, but 130 years apart—1887 and 2017. Both women struggle with difficult lives and violent partners. Turnbull explores the effects of domestic violence on mental health and the “importance of getting out while you still can,” she says. Turnbull is already working on a second novel about a young girl who wants to play hockey and a former NHL player who takes her under his wing. 9781778530814
