Biblioasis Double Launch
July 20th, 2026

Biblioasis authors Pauline Holdstock and Richard Kelly Kemick will launch their newest books during a free public event at Upstart & Crow on Granville Island on Thursday, August 6, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
The evening will feature readings and a conversation with Holdstock, whose new story collection What Endures explores truth, connection and the absurdities of contemporary life, and Kemick, whose essay collection Decadence offers an unconventional memoir through reflections on subjects ranging from volleyball and municipal landfills to dogs, love and Christmas villages.
Holdstock is the author of several acclaimed novels and short fiction collections. In What Endures, she examines what gives life meaning amid the relentless pace of modern existence.
Award-winning poet, journalist and fiction writer Richard Kelly Kemick is the author of Hello, Horse, I Am Herod and Caribou Run. His latest book, Decadence, blends humour, curiosity and personal reflection into what he describes as “an accidental memoir of a sort.”
Admission is free, but advance RSVP is recommended as space is limited. Copies of both books will be available for purchase and signing following the event.
