Language Unleashed Live

February 12th, 2026

An evening of performance and language art comes to Gallery 881 on Friday, March 6, bringing together four boundary-pushing artists for Language Unleashed!

The event features media artist Kedrick James, New York–based performance poet Adeena Karasick, multimedia creator Jim Andrews, and BC writer Lionel Kearns.

A long-standing figure in Canada’s experimental poetry scene, Lionel Kearns has been producing visual poetry, video poetry and innovative books with Talonbooks since the 1960s. Known for interrogating language and reshaping the printed word into visual form, Kearns’ practice spans page, screen and projection.

This event will highlight both past collaborations and new multimedia work, with projected visuals accompanying live performance.

Presented at Gallery 881 (881 East Hastings Street, Vancouver), the evening runs from 7:00 to 8:30 pm, with doors opening at 6:30 pm.

Advance tickets are $25 ($35 at the door), with limited availability on-site.
