Liang, who earned her Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering from the University of British Columbia, explains to young readers how engineering inventions have been essential to human survival and prosperity for thousands of years. The book explores how engineers are responsible for everything from clean drinking water, managing garbage, safe places to live with electricity and running water, to communication and transportation networks.
