Spotlight on Victoria Writers’ Society

On Tuesday, September 23 at 7:00 pm (Pacific), the Federation of BC Writers will host a Regional Spotlight featuring the Victoria Writers’ Society (VWS). The evening will be guided by host Meaghan Hackinen, author of Shifting Gears (NeWest Press, 2023) and will showcase the diverse voices and talents of VWS members.

Readers include S.M. Perkins Carr, founder of Melikos Publishing and author of Searching for Persephone (self-published, 2022); Valerie Chalker, novelist and graduate of The Writers Studio at SFU; R. Paul Faubert, writer of Come Home and the forthcoming A Criminal Act of Heroism; Britta Gundersen, author of Ominous – An African Journey (self-published, 2023) and Island-Wise – Global Reflections (self-published, 2025); Hope West, multi-award-winning author of The Once Upon a Time of Now; and VWS President Dana Reinhardt, a chef-turned-writer currently working on her memoir I Remember Every Bite.

This free online event opens its digital doors at 6:55 pm, and will be recorded for those who cannot attend live.
