Wayne Cope is a retired Vancouver Police Officer who spent more than 30 years with the force. He spent many childhood hours watching cowboys and criminals on TV, which likely influenced his decision to become a police officer. His diverse career with the Vancouver City Police Department (he worked everything from traffic duty to the unsolved homicide unit) spanned over 30 years. In Vancouver Blue: A Life Against Crime (Harbour $22.95), Cope shares his crime-fighting experience. As publicity materials tell us, “Behind each assignment, there’s a story, a joke or a revealing insight into the realities of police work. Cope also provides detailed accounts of some of his most fascinating cases, like Vancouver’s sensational Centrefold Murders and the infamous killing of the Stanley Park flamingoes” Cope lives in Tsawwassen. 978-1-55017-699-5
