21st Storytelling Championship

November 12th, 2025

The ultimate storytelling showdown, the Vancouver Storytelling Championship, returns on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the Vogue Theatre.

This event is the grand finale of Vancouver Story Slam’s year-long competition. Ten of Vancouver’s best writers and performers will compete, telling original stories for the title of 2025 Storytelling Champion.

Vancouver Story Slam, founded in 2004, is recognized as the longest-running live storytelling event of its kind in Canada—and the second-longest-running in the world. Throughout the year, over 100 people share their original writing live onstage, with top storytellers invited to the championship. Over $2,500 in cash prizes are awarded annually.

Audience members play a crucial role, casting their vote to decide the winner of the night. The event promises great, original entertainment that is often described as “fantastic, raucous” and incredibly welcoming.

Doors open at 7:00 PM, with the show starting at 8:00 PM. As the stories are not prescreened or censored, listener discretion is advised, as content may include adult language or sensitive topics.
