Victoria-based Garry Foster has published Chrome and Colour: Stories of Craftsmanship and Automotive Design ( Enlightened Communications unpriced), which provides insight into the classic car hobby in Canada. Each story, previously published in newspapers and automotive magazines in Canada, America and Australia, is a combination of personal and technical, modern and historic. There’s enough technical information for the die-hards but the emphasis is on the person and story behind the scenes. Towards the end of the book, there is a peek into prominent car shows in Canada — including Deuce Days in Victoria — as well as a piece about experiencing Vancouver Island from behind the wheel of early Corvette models. With over 300 colour photos and many vintage images, the photography alone could tell the story. Proceeds of the book go to veterans suffering from PTSD. 978-1-7775618-0-2

Thank you for offering to mention this here. In a few short weeks more books will be arriving from the press, and we will have a book booth at the upcoming Father’s Day event in Qualicum Beach (Seaside Cruisers Show n Shine June 19th).
