Finding Tiff

August 14th, 2020

Having written about major Canadian figures Malcom Lowry (who lived in the Vancouver area for 14 years while finishing his mid-20th century masterpiece Under the Volcano), Margaret Atwood, and painter Tom Thomson, UBC professor emerita Sherrill Grace has published Tiff: A Life of Timothy Findley (WLP $39.99). Described by Atwood as, “A meticulously researched deep dive into a troubled and fascinating life—passionate, engaged, often messy, vastly rewarding,” Grace spent almost ten years researching the book, which covers Findley’s work as a novelist, playwright and short-story writer, and his importance in the development of Canadian literature and publishing in the 1970s and 80s.
