R.I.P. David Kerfoot (1948 – 2020)

David Kerfoot died on January 11 at Vancouver General Hospital.
He earned the title of Canadian Bookseller of the Year from the Book Publishers Professional Association in 1986. Kerfoot worked at the legendary Duthie Books on Robson street in the 1970s, where he managed the area known as Duthie’s “Cellar” because it was located in the store’s basement that was approached by a dramatic circular staircase. He also worked at the last Duthie Books store on 4th Avenue in Kitsilano until it closed in 2010.
