Talonbooks spring launch

March 27th, 2019

Talonbooks hosts its spring poetry launch on April 3, 8 pm at Pyatt Hall in Vancouver. Admission is free.

Talon authors will include bill bissett reading from his largest volume of poetry yet published, Breth: th treez uv lunaria: selektid rare n nu pomes n drawings, 1957–2019 (Talon $29.95), which presents bissett’s new works as well as selected poems from his past. Breth contains more than a hundred illustrations and visual poems.

Other authors attending the event are:  M.A.C. Farrant reading from The Great Happiness (Talon $14.95), a collection of 70 “miniature fictions” and comics on the theme of happiness; Nicole Raziya Fong featuring her debut collection PEЯFACT (Talon $16.95), which is a three-part series of poems on the nature of experience, language, trauma, and identity; Nikki Reimer reading from her new collection My Heart Is a Rose Manhattan (Talon $16.95) about grief and isolation; and Dina Del Bucchia’s reading from It’s a Big Deal! (Talon $16.95), which is promoted as being about “the ways we interpret and process the big deals of our twenty-first-century lives.”

Talonbooks is also hosting poetry launches in Calgary at Shelf Life Books, 1302 4 St SW on April 16; and in Winnipeg at McNally Robinson Books, 1120 Grant Avenue on April 17.
